2024 Christmas in the Historic District
Old Economy Village ‘Cristmas at the Village’ candlelit tours Saturday 2 pm to 9 pm & Sunday 2 pm to 7 pm
Historic District businesses Saturday 10 am to 9 pm & Sunday 12 pm 7 pm
Old Economy Village will be the scene of carriage rides and candlelit tours, a live outdoor Nativity display, and an appearance by Santa for photos with children during a festive weekend set for early next month.
Here's what's planned for Saturday, Dec. 7, and Sunday, Dec. 8, in the Ambridge Historic District:
Old Economy Village will conduct tours and host vendors, displays and musical performances at the regular admission price from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday. The carriage rides (donation required) will begin at 1307 Merchant St. and will take place between 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday.
The live St. John's Lutheran Church outdoor Nativity display will repeat every 20 minutes from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
St. John's also will also serve German food from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Watch for tours of the historic church being offered on Saturday.
Santa Claus will be visiting Laughlin Memorial Library from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday so parents can take pictures of him with their children, and Akulina's Antiques, Rivertown Antiques, Good Intent Trading, and Bird & Bear will hold open houses from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Visitors also can purchase a holiday-inspired peppermint hot chocolate from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Old Crow Coffeehouse; stop by 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at the Orbit Bar & Grill for food & beverage, and visit 2 Sisters Bakery and Cafe Saturday and Sunday for stuffed cabbage ‘special"‘.
Tobin Studios will hold their live music & art show Saturday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. And The Epochary Inn, a restored Harmonist home, small event center and bed and breakfast, will hold an open house from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. While Ohio Valley Lines will be open for model train enthusiasts from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (through Jan. 12, donation required). Stop by Hands on Health Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for 15% off purchase of gift certificate.
