2024 Christmas in the Historic District

Old Economy Village “Cristmas at the Village”

Saturday Dec 7, 2pm - 9pm Sunday Dec 8, 2pm - 7pm

Old Economy Village will be the scene of carriage rides and candlelit tours, a live outdoor Nativity display, and an appearance by Santa for photos with children during a festive weekend set for early next month.

Here's what's planned for Saturday, Dec. 7, and Sunday, Dec. 8, in the Ambridge Historic District: 

Old Economy Village will conduct tours and host vendors, displays and musical performances at the regular admission price from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday. The carriage rides (donation required) will begin at 1307 Merchant St. and will take place between 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday. 

The live St. John's Lutheran Church outdoor Nativity display will repeat every 20 minutes from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday. St. John's also will hold its winter bake sale from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday and offer tours of the historic church from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday. 

Santa Claus will be visiting Laughlin Memorial Library from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday so parents can take pictures of him with their children, and Akulina's Antiques, Rivertown Antiques, Good Intent Trading, and Bird & Bear will hold open houses from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday.  

Visitors also can purchase a holiday-inspired peppermint hot chocolate from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Old Crow Coffeehouse; stop by The Log Cabin to view its collection of working music boxes. 

And The Epochary Inn, a restored Harmonist home, small event center and bed and breakfast, will hold an open house from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and take family portraits 4 – p.m. for purchase. While Ohio Valley Lines will be open for model train enthusiasts from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (through Jan. 8, donation required).
