A PHMC Grant with matching funds provides architectural drawings for use in rehabilitation.

The Ambridge Historic District Economic Development Corporation took ownership of 284 13th Street in 2020. It was dubbed the Bicentennial House for the 2024 celebration of the 200 year anniversary of the Harmonist village in Ambridge.

A Rivers of Steel grant was obtained to begin work.

Save the Building!

The Ambridge Historic District Economic Development Corporation took ownership of 284 13th Street.

This building has been “affectionately” identified as both the Bachelor’s Quarters or the Green Building.

In 2020 it has been dubbed the Bicentennial House - in celebration of the 200 year anniversary of the Harmonist village in Ambridge.

YEAR 2019

Historic District Information Kiosk completed 2019

Rivers of Steel 2017 - 2019 $8000 Directional Signage grant project was completed in 2019. This included Penn-Dot signage on Route 65, the Kiosk, and Attraction brochures.

Interpretive Sign project expanded 2019

Additional 5 signs were installed in the Historic District, made possible by a $5000 Rotary grant.

Promoted through Beaver County Tourism as a District-wide destination event. This event was started in 2017 as Christmas in the Village and had a name change in 2019.

The Antique Trail in cooperation with Beaver County Tourism was expanded to a twice a year event, Summer and Christmas!

Promoted through Beaver County Tourism as a District-wide destination event. This event was initiated in 2017.

This 2016 second annual Antique Holiday Shopping Trail was a big success, shoppers look forward to this annual event!

The Trail was eventually rebranded and run in cooperation with Beaver County Tourism in future years.

Plaques presented to renovated historic properties.

In 2015 sixteen bronze National Register of Historic Places markers were placed on ca 1820’s Harmonist buildings.

Preserve America Community

2007

Designation as a Preserve America Community provides national recognition for what the community has achieved, while also enhancing the contribution of heritage tourism and other economic development strategies. This designation indicates that the community is working to preserve and use its heritage assets as building blocks for the future.
